“The human voice is the most beautiful instrument of all,
but it is the most difficult to play."
-Richard Strauss
The vibrations of your voice affect the world around you.
Every letter, every sound of your voice is an expulsion of air that gets pushed and pulled by the muscles in your body as it travels outside of you.
Your internal state affects how those muscles tense and relax, creating different patterns of how the molecules bump up against each other. The bumping of air molecules in different patterns creates frequencies, which enter the ears of others. As those frequencies get picked up by someone else's outer ear, those signals then interact with that person's middle ear muscles, fluids, hairs and nerve cells of their auditory system.
This creates vibrational patterns that give them information about how you feel. The frequencies of your internal state affect what their nervous system does next.
Do you know how much your internal state affects the frequencies you send out? And do you know how much those frequencies affect another person's internal state? The more we can offer frequencies of our own sense of safety and strength, the more we send those frequencies out to others and help them regulate their internal state.
There are certain people whose voice brings us into a different state. Voice is a powerful tool to build connection. The more intentionally and authentically we use it, the more intentional and authentic our relationships and leadership can become.
Voice literally moves energy and matter.
These pictures are my voice frequencies saying the words SO... IT... IS...
