So much of what is tied to mental health is tied to the maturation process - the developmental journey of learning how to self-regulate, stay true to one's own integrity, to know one holds value, and to integrate into social dynamics and relationships, holding more than one's own perspective.
Immature reactions and thought processes activate emotions that pull us away from logic, reasoning, complexity, cognitive flexibility and systems thinking.
Complexity, reasoning and cognitive flexibility may sound cold and loveless, but in fact the opposite is true.
Engaging in long-form types of thinking that expand our minds into seeing how systems interconnect and how to foresee the future as it connects to our past... these are the types of thinking that will help us create a better society for all.
Our hope for improving our sense of wellbeing and ability to function optimally - now and in the future - lies in our ability to recognize our own abilities, and our own intelligence as super-learners.
To maximize these powers, we need the right conditions for the brain to truly unleash its potential. As AI gets more powerful and capable of influencing us, and drawing our attention into addiction and reactivity, we must learn how to immunize ourselves against outside forces at play that pull us away from not just what 'matters', but what is actually a neurological imperative for our highest functioning. It starts in our homes, families and communities.. and how we choose to use our time to learn, train, evolve.
Maturity and mental health are fostered through families and small social circles that focus on wisdom, long-term perspectives, self-awareness, self-leadership, and social-emotional mastery to create secure, connected relationships.
There is science and mechanics to all of this.. it’s been part of my mission for decades to research & share how we do this.
In some upcoming content, I want to cover the concept of sample size, sampling bias, and concepts from research that skew our thinking about issues we face. I'll be pulling from some eye-opening courses I took while working for the department of defense many years ago, and following-the-trail of who benefits from what is being written and shared.
We need more of us to be savvy about what we are being presented with and how to return to our own intelligence and wisdom to help us navigate the frenetic energy that is used in power plays and emotional coercion - these are social dynamics of primates and humans that affect us not only on societal levels but in interpersonal matters. Will cover more soon! Energy is a bit tied up with getting this book submitted by May 30, but I will do my best to hop on here occasionally to share!!
Hope you get a chance to check out my podcast and newsletter!
With Love from Me to You!!!

Go team! Go Humans! We can do this... we can figure out - together - how to do better for ourselves and the little ones who we are modeling for right now....
