We are Vibrational Beings. I've been measuring that — quite literally — for almost twenty years. Brainwaves, neurophysiology, the frequencies that are projected and detected by other nervous systems whether we realize it or now. What the science keeps showing, across every population I've worked with is (you've possibly heard me say this before...)
Your nervous system isn't just yours. Your internal state and intentions are transmitted and received within every interaction, every room you walk into.
So the question isn't just Am I regulated?
The question is: What am I contributing to the field?
We are living in a loud time.
More information. More noise. More people asking: who do I trust? What do I follow? What actually helps?
What science keeps showing us: people are not just listening to your words. Their nervous systems are picking up your signal before you even open your mouth.
Every breath, every pause (or lack of pauses), every micro-expression on your face. The people around you are receiving all of it (online and in person) and their brains are using that information to decide if they feel safe, inspired, defensive, dismissive or checked out.
When our internal state and intentions send out a signal that we are open to learning, wanting to connect more than correct... other nervous systems pick this up. We become easier to trust. Easier to learn from. People around us feel calmer, more open, more able to think.
When our internal state and intentions transmit that we are trying to convince, change, control, shame, judge, evaluate... we broadcast that too. Even when we try to hide it.
-----
Pause and reflect how often you might be doing this inadvertently - and how much you might be receiving those signals (online and in person).. not just directly to yourself but as you see the people around you and the signals they are sending about other people.
(in my recent master class I shared how in-group bonding can actually have neurochemical effects that lead the in-group to increase hostility to the out-group- I'll share more on that later).
----
Your ability to regulate your emotions is one of the most powerful things you can offer the world right now.
In a sea of dysregulated noise, people are starving for a clear signal. They are looking for someone who can help them tune back into their own deepest knowing - their own intelligence - instead of just adding to the overwhelm.
That is what a regulated nervous system does. It creates space. It slows things down just enough for insight to arrive.
We are not born knowing how to do this. We learn it. Through relationships. Through practice. Through someone who models it for us.
And once we have it — truly have it in our bodies, not just in our heads — we can offer it to others just by showing up.
So here is the question worth sitting with today:
When you walk into a room — a meeting, a session, a conversation — what are you contributing to the field?
Because your internal state is always transmitting.
The invitation is to make that transmission intentional.
With deep respect for your vibrational contributions to the world,
Stefanie
P.S. — A small announcement! I just finished recording a brand new micro-course: The Neuroscience of Emotion Regulation: How to Teach It So the People You Lead Actually Take It Seriously and Use It. It is part of a growing series of Applied Neuroscience mini-courses — including one on how to explain neuroplasticity in a way that actually makes people want to change. These mini-courses are truly the heart of why my work has been so meaningful and has opened doors I never could have planned for. I wanted to share them with the super-regulators of the world.
If you are a member of the Neuro Aligned Leadership Academy, you are automatically registered for all of my mini-courses and masterclasses throughout the year — plus you receive the Neuro Aligned 6 Step Framework: the framework I use to reach global audiences and turn even the most skeptical "soft skills skeptics" into advocates. More details on the Academy [here].
