I've spent almost two decades measuring nervous systems and mind-brain-body signals.. Brainwaves, heart rhythms, skin conductance, eye movements, facial expressions (facial electromyography).
Something I see again and again as people fill out self-report assessments (before getting these physiological maps and measurements) is that:
most people don't consciously know that they're transmitting anything.
And then.. when they do finally see a connection between the world of frequencies, vibrations, micro-movements, brain-body singals.. and their own behaviors..
they get a glimpse of themselves in a completely new light that shows them a new view of where they're at, and where they could go.
But here's the thing..
Even though I love that I have been able to watch these frequencies and rhythms through machines, and the 'aha's that come with them..
... some of the most interesting things I've learned have come more from what I sense and pick up on with my own senses*... In the room with that person in front of me..
What changes when someone feels deeply understood?
What can we notice in someone who is shutdown, resigned?
Why does one question create movement while another triggers resistance?
Why can the same tool help one nervous system settle and make another feel worse?
There is something that many coaches and practitioners who have spent years working with human beings share:
highly sophisticated pattern detection.
They can sense those patterns. They have a sense of the answers to those questions. They can sense shifts, and stuckness, states and stories that are or aren’t serving the people in front of them.
They just don't always have the biological language for what they've learned.
And sometimes.. not always.. having that biological language can mean a whole new level of engagement, buy-in and expansion of who you might reach and help.
That to me is important:
You don’t need someone to replace your wisdom with neuroscience.
You also don’t need someone to get you to think that you “should” be using neuroscience words to spark change or trust.
You already have a sense of what is needed to help others access new hope and new trajectories for themselves..
But what can be a new, expansive lens is this:
Seeing your wisdom in a new light through the eyes of neuroscience.
And then watching that shift create powerful new connections in how your work reaches people...
Getting to feel, embody and be able to explain the mechanisms underneath what you've sensed for years.
To be able to say:
THAT'S why this works.
That's what I've been noticing.
This is the biological layer underneath my method.
This is where science is so energizing for me.
It doesn't need to pull us farther away from what we know (I’ve seen that happen too)
When we share this view of human transformation, wellbeing and thriving .. science can be a gentle but powerful bridge that can help us see more deeply into it.

P.S. That bridging of wisdom and science is why I created the Super-Regulators Neuroscience Academy.
It’s an invitation and a vibrant space where we co-create with neuroscience language and start mapping it onto your work.. your expertise and body of wisdom - infused and integrated with peer-reviewed science.
If you know something powerful is happening in your work and want to expand who seeks you for your work, I'd love for you to see what's possible when you connect your wisdom with the science that is already there within it.

(the beauty is that I’ve had the chance to cross-verify, triangulate all that data with what comes from being physiuolgocally measured, plus their self-reports, plus my observations)
